Well, he ain’t a super hero, or even some kind of pimp .. some even thought he was a body builder :-p really…
My real name is Andrew Spaulding (who would’ve known), and I work for Adobe Systems in Melbourne, Australia, as a Systems Engineer. What’s that exactly? Well I’m a technical pre-sales guy who enjoys presenting to customers and explaining how cool Adobe’s software really is. Some of you may have seen me at Adobe events around Australia, at MAX Asia Pacific, or possibly at webDU.
I got a lucky break really, thanks to a friend of mine. He chose Macromedia Flex whilst it was in beta (pre 1.0) to use as our new presentation tier on a Risk Management application we were developing. At the time Flex was relatively new in Australia and we were approached by Mark Blair at Macromedia to see how we were going. I stayed in close contact with Mark for the next 6 months (or more), when I then got a call to discuss the possibility of joining Macromedia in a support role servicing customers throughout Asia Pacific.
With that I moved from Melbourne to Sydney to start a new life and a fantastic career. Two months later we became Adobe, and 12 months later I moved out of support and into pre-sales.
This blog was really started back when I was contracting, and was used as more of a promotional tool. Now, it is a popular resource for all things Flex and AIR, and any other topic that grabs my attention. I hope you find the information useful and where possible please leave a comment and share your thoughts and opinions with others.
Cheers!
